Bellhousing mounting bolt

I found three bellhousing mounting bolts missing. WTF The bolts on the front insert through the trans into the engine. How does the lower rear bolt (under the starter) go in? The Service Manual show it going through the block into the trans but my block is threaded there. I can't find a hole in the trans to put the bolt through even though I've removed everything blocking my access and view of this area. What am I missing?

One of the things I learned when working Tech Support is if an Engineer calls with a problem and you don't have a solution, leave him hanging long enough and eventually he'll call *you* back with the answer.

I found my answer: The hole in the block is threaded but these threads are not used with the A/T. When I probed deep enough into the bolt hole I found the hole diameter reduced and became threaded. The required bolt diameter is one size smaller than the other four mounting bolts. I'd know this stuff if I took it apart myself but when it falls off on it's own...
