bell housing damage???

Looking to buy a 95 talon tsi awd with 100k apears to be stock and engine is in good running condition. However the trans has a crack at or around the slave clinder mount wich expands when depressing the clutch.

My question is what culd cause this crack? Shoujld I weld the crack? If I do would I just be waking into obvious trans issues which most likely were the cause fo the crack? Could it just be from a bad trans or motor mount that caused the extra stress?

Btw not a newb just new to posting in this forum.

No dowel pins wil cause that to happen. It may be welded depends on the crack.

The ones in the front and the rear there are two of them.

Dont weld it. I had that happen to me on my old 1g GSX, and i had to replace the bellhousing. It was welded 3 times. Kept breaking in the same spot. In fact it finally broke off between the upper two trans mount bolts. From the slave cylinder to the top of the bellhousing, it finally broke all the way thru. The heat and the stress there makes welding it not the best idea.

I would find someone with a used trans and just swap em out.

just transfer the internals from ## trans into a new bell housing. buy either a blown trans or just a bell housing. it's actually pretty cheap.
