Hello, I have a 96 eagle talon esi. It's all stock has no turbo no new parts all original stock. Looking to make inexspensive upgrades exhaust, intake, ect. Just looking for adive and tips. Maybe so links to high quality parts (good brands) ect. thanks :)

First of course anyone would say is the maintanence timing belt and stuff. Second I would start with finding a turbo set up 14b, 16g. Third I would up grade the exhaust. I was lucky I found and got a AWD Tsi Talon.

Selling it and buying the tsi would be by far the cheapest way to go. If you want to make your NT fast I'd go with a injen intake, k&n filter, a way to keel cool air around your intake like a air dam, I believe dc still sells 420a headers, a full exhaust with either a high flow cat or no cat at all. I wouldnt go too big on the exhaust, 2 inch should be fine and keep the cops away. If you REALLY want to push your NT but keep it NT I'd Definatly look at doing either cowl induction or ram air but both are fairly stupid looking 90% of the time. Ram air would be your most likely real gain but it only really does something at 80 or so mph and even then I've only seen a 15 crank hp gain. In all you'd be very lucky to see 145 wheel hp.

145 whp? Unlikely. You wont get that much power without some motor work. A Turbo is the easiest noticeable power gain. Building your own kit could be had for roughly 1000 bucks.

Yeah, like I said it's not likely but with everything I mentioned it is roughly possible as ram air can produce up to 3 pounds of boost in some cases more than likely though he won't be going 180 and being almost out of vacuum would be more likely. But with a air dam to keep engine heat off of his intake, and cowl induction, to lower his engine bay temp it is very unlikely but still possible if he can get enough fuel which I would have no idea about since I don't know what the stock injector size is or how much air you meter on the 420a ecu.

thanks for all the advice guys. keep it coming I'm not trying to turbo yet, dont have 1000+ the sink in the car this very moment.
