beat by a neon???

exactly. The n/t engine(420a) is the same as a neon DOHC, except flow in the head is reversed(intake is on the back, not the front as on a neon). That and it makes 10 less HP, but more torque in the n/t dsm. If you want proof check out hahn racecrafts site, they specialize in turbo kits for non turbo dsm's and neons.

what I would like to know, what is different between the 4g63 in a dsm, and the one in a lancer. I know the swap is extremely hard to pull off, but what exactly is different to make it so hard?

same thing with the neon dohc and the dsm dohc...everything is backwards the engine is opposite iof what it is in our cars.

Ah, thanks! Like the idea of putting a 4g63 into a neon. Great in theory, but one migraine after another if you try it I guess.

I dont think I would do that, cause of the headaches it would involve. I would just buy the new neon and call it a day.

I think that the evo engines came with a small 16g and a little bigger injectors as well and a fmic with a water sprayer stock. I think that they had a 8.7:1 compression ratio as well. the older evo engines can be swaped, there the same as ours except for the above. the newer ones, I think it started with the evo IV, spin in the wrong direction for our trannys. and if the car had a 420a it was a none turbo from the factory if it had a 42 with a turbo it WAS an after market turbo. could have been the driver as well, I am partial to 2gs though

After the Talon was discontinued (and before it was acquired by DaimlerBenz), the Dodge Neon R/T was the fastest vehicle Chrysler made outside of the Viper. That little DOHC motor can kick out a decent amount of power.
