the 1g timing maps are too high for 2g pistons, your going to have to get it chipped from Jeff like I did in order for it to run correctly, or get link. I have 30 % expanded 2g timing maps set at a safe level. Its the best/ cheapest option for the time being imo.
Talk to Jayrolla , he will tell you of his experiences with the 2g pistons as far as knock due to too high of timing . He could barely run over 12lbs without knocking.

Andy this is what I spoke to you about several months ago about the 2g pistons being harsh on the stock 1g timing advance and remember I was saying I was worried about boost creep from open dp which would cause tremendous knock. Then you were one of the ppl who referred me to Jeff for custom ecu chips. Seems that was definitly a solution.

For the op id recommend running only 10-11 lbs of boost until you get chipped or link.
( You shouldnt have any knock at that level unless you definitly do have other problems. )

Yea im also running 2g pistons and it is a pain to get rid of knock. At around 12psi I see up to 12 counts of knock. Timing control is need for a good tune. Im going with a safc and methane injection so even with the timing pull I hope the meth will keep the knock in check.

Also on a side note I see 24-26* timing at 5* base on stock injectors. Cant wait till meth and maybe I might go with E85 when I get dsmlink.
