Washington,
Well,

I've narrowed my cooling problem down to my waterpump or fans. Here is what happens. When i'm on the highway- I can drive the car for a 200 mile stretch with NO ISSUES. As soon as I get off the highway and come to a stop- the temp gauge starts to move up. When the car starts moving again, it goes right back down. I also was stopped at stoplight, car temp started going up so I held the accelerator down at 2k and the temp went right back down. Any ideas? HG block test came back negative.

-Thermostat is removed.
-New aluminum radiator
-Shitty fan on a/c side as a puller (about to be replaced by an expensive high cfm fan)
-New radiator hoses

Could be a thermostat, take the cap off when the car is running and if you see the water flowing then you know the pump is working. If you see the water stop then you know the thermostat is working. It should stay closed till a certain temp.

Sorry, as an update.

I have a new aluminum radiator, there is no white smoke, the car boosts very hard and will not overheat on the highway no matter how hard I push it. I have taken the thermostat out, coolant cap is new, and new silicone radiator lines. There are no heatshields on the car. There was an upper on there before but I had the same issue.

I experienced the same thing about a month ago I checked and changed all of the usuals, hoses, thermostat, radiator. However I came to find out that my thermostat housing had a crack in it.

Have you checked to see if the waterpump is leaking any antifreeze out of its weep hole?

Since you are having no issues with the car overheating while driving, i would almost assume its a fan/airflow related issue. I would also highly recommend that you put a new OEM thermostat back in your car.

I would drive your car around and then pull over and pop the hood to see if the fans are working. Also, do you have any problems starting your car? Any other electric powered device not work properly unless you are driving?

Dsmlink has both fans running all the time. No other electrical issues. The fans run fine. The new a/c shroud fan is a pos, I have a high flow fan en route. Would this really cause an overheat issue? When it comes in, should I wire it as a pusher in front of radiator and leave the weak puller or do the opposite?

Are you sure that you dont have any air pockets in the cooling system. The systems you are describing sound just like when my car had air pockets in it and wasnt completely full of antifreeze. It would only heat up when it was idling not when driving.
