I recently installed the following parts in my otherwise stock 92 Galant VR-4:

ACT 2600 kit, street disc
Fidanza flyhweel
OEM TOB
OEM Shift fork
OEM pivot ball bolt with lockwasher shim

Installed according to the instructions on the VFAQ and Haynes manual. All parts were torqued to spec. Proper thread sealants and grease were used. I have about 70 miles on the setup.

My problem is that when accelerating from a stop in either 1st or Reverse, the car shudders and vibrates badly. If I get the RPM to slip ratio just perfect, it doesn't vibrate very much. Trying to move the car forward by gently slipping the clutch and giving no gas results in bad vibration. There is little to no vibration when shifting to higher gears during normal driving.

Any idea what the problem is? I'm starting to get the sinking feeling that I am going to have to re-do the entire job.

It sounds like it's just chatter. Should go away after the break-in. Try giving it a little more gas that helped with my chatter.
