1992 Talon TSI AWD, when I let it idel for a while I get blue smoke when I take off. The longer I idle the more smoke I get before it stops. Is this bad turbo seals? The turbo does have alot of miles. ANything else it could be? How do I determine if it is them?

remove the licp and intercooler check for oil in these areas also check for shaft play in the turbo while you have the licp off. also do a search on turbos leaking alot of threads on it

Sounds more like valve seals, how are the pcv and breather routed? Any issues with dipstick popping out?

The car is bone stock, so however the PVC is stock is how it is. No problem with teh dipstick poopoing out. Starts just fine, and it doesn;t do it at startup like I would expect from valve seasl or guides.

Remove the pcv and suck on it from the IM side to make sure it's not clogged, I would replace it with an OEM one anyway since it's cheap.

Turbo seal usually cause the car to smoke right as you let off after boosting or creating smoke screen during boosting. A puff of smoke during taking off after idling usually points to the valve seals. I would check the turbo and licp for any signs of trouble then perform a dry and wet compression test to rule out the rings but the easiest thing to do first is to eliminate the pcv as a possible cause.

if none of the above works, it couls be as simple as a bad valve cover gasket. if there is a small crack in the gasket, or a warped valve cover, or head then the small amount of oil coming out could possibly drip onto the ehaust system then burning. jus my .02 cents
