I have low compression in 2 cylinders and my engine smokes a bit and i was wondering if its bad to use the stuff like "RESTORE" and other compression fix in a bottle type deals in a turbo charged car? Will this interfere with turbo lubrication or create knock due to added compression? I am running 15psi and its summer and often in the 80s.

PS Im going to find a more perminent solution as soon as i can afford to get a leakdown test done. So dont yell at me :p

I CAN YELL IF I WANNA

anything "in a bottle" besides cola is almost certainly crap! and if its cuz of valves then wtf could the genie in a bottle do? some of that is just like a coater to stick to the walls and can gunk up the works. dont mix or add oils or anything unless u want a nice let down. i say down with gimmicks!

Ditto,

or rather DITTO!!!!

Hey, beer comes in a bottle and so does vodka, both are better than cola.
But I agree, that will do minimal as far as compression. Just save that couple bucks for the leakdown test. It sounds like you had a compression test already, mind posting the numbers?

Seafoam. I heard it's the shit. I've bought some just haven't had time to put it in. Search under seafoam and you'll find a lot of post on it.

seafoam won't fix compression. It just cleans the carbon out of your engine. All of the stuff in bottles are software for a hardware problem.

First thing: how low? How far off the other two? Did you do a wet test to confirm it's rings and not valve seats?

For reasons I cannot comprehend, RESTORE is commonly recommended to help combat lifter tick. And, it seems to help.

Uh.... no. Nothing in a can is going to give you that kind of compression boost.

If the motor's that tired, you may want to keep your boot out of it.

The solution's an engine rebuild. That won't much change with testing methods.
