ok,
whats up everybody, i need some help i have a problem(i mean dsm) i've got a 90 tsi awd with 65,xxx orignal miles on it. it doesn't have the orange sticker in the drivers side door panel so im guessing it has open diffs front and back. heres the problem. when i pull into a parking spot at low speeds or just try to turn with the wheels turned all the way in either direction, you can hear and feel the rear wheels turn one at a time, first one side then the other, which makes the car jerk side to side kind of in a r,l,r,l, or l,r,l,r,....... now the car is fine in a stright line, theres no rattling or shaking or thumping of anykind. now the stock struts are almost blown, when going over bumps in the road i feel like i got lowering springs on my car. now the only thing i can think of is that since my struts are blown, and i have open diffs and the weight of the car is 230lbs more biased to the drivers side thanks to my fat ass, when turning very sharply, the car will lean slightly to the drivers side causing pressure to come off the rear of the passenger side of the car causing the open diff to send power to that wheel since it would sense that that side has less grip which then makes the car jerk, making the other side loose grip which the open diff would then sense thus sending power to the other side which would then jerk the car causing weight to shift yadayadayada.... what do you think? or could my rear brakes be sticking? the car launches awesome no funny noises or anything so i can't see it being the rear diff? sorry for the very very long post.

Doesn't sound like struts. Maybe CV joints, or.... I dunno. Universal joint in the driveshaft? I don't think wheel bearing.... brakes are unlikely.

Dammit, just too hard to guess over email. Sorry.

well i put some brand new kyb gr2s all the way around, and it helped out a lot. it still does it but not nearly as bad as it was, so maby it is the cv joints buckling. i dunno but it runs, and runs well(watch my car break tomorrow) so maby i should just enjoy driving it.
