i just replaced my master and slave clutch cylinders, and now the clutch engages like RIGHT off the floor, no matter how much i adjust the rod going into the master cylinder. theres no leaks though, the master cylinder & slave arent leaking at all. any ideas?

also, i was wondering, is it possible to press the clutch pedal TOO hard? like depending on where the rod is adjusted. if you push the pedal all the way to the floor while the rod is adjusted all the way into the master, can that damage the master? cause you can feel when the rod is all the way in the cylinder, but i can still push it in more with my foot.

Edit: See my post in post #9...this is really making me mad :(

I bet your through out bearing is gone. The ACT one sucks. My brothers went out at 20000 miles. My mechanic builds about 3 dsm trans a week so he knows what hes talking about. He said they always go out. He doesnt even use them anymore. I think they should call the ACT bearing the through away bearing.
I got OEM throw out bearings when i put in the 2600. :thumb:

Damn man, dont know what to say. Good job on not putting the ACT bearing in. Maybe your fork is broken. Did you do the clutch yourself. Did you have the flywheel surfaced to spec for the ACT clutch and not an OEM clutch. The spec is different for the two as you probably know.

Yea thats the only way to bleed. Have someone tighten the bleeder. You pump the clutch like three times and while you holding the clutch down have him loosen it. Also put a vacuum line on the end of the bleeder going into a clean jar of fluid to make sure you have no air bubbles

I had a transmission shop put it in, so I dunno what they did to the flywheel.

As for bleeding, I bled it by putting the speedbleeder on, opening it a little (enough to let fluid out, but not leak through the threads) & pumping the clutch myself about 5 times (making the reservoir was about 1/4 full), then filling the reservoir back up & repeating the pumping..yes I had a tube in a can of new brake fluid as well. I did this until I went through a whole 32 oz bottle.

if there is any play in the pedal you might have to pull it out and get part of it welded. I was having a similar problem and thats what i had to do.

blah..so this is starting to make me mad..i hooked cables up to my battery, car still won't start. when i put the key in the ignition & try to start it, I just hear clicking. and about once every minute i'll hear a mechanical/buzzing sound coming from around the radio area. i'm guessing this is my starter? why is it making a sound every minute when the key's in the ignition?

also i tried taking my biss out..it's all messed up, it wont come out of the throttle body. it can unscrew all the way, but for some reason it wont screw OUT of the throttle body. it just keeps spinning & spinning, and the top is nearly flush with the top of the uh 'tunnel' for the screw, so i dont know why it wont come out. this car is really pissing me off

LOL Easy fix for that. It's because the BISS is already screwed all the way out but the thing isn't long enough to clear the rim. Just wrap a piece of tape around your finger and touch it.

why didnt i think of that!? thanks!

ok so when my key is in the ignition & the car wont start, about once every minute there is a whirring/buzzing noise coming from around the radio area, it lasts for about 4 seconds. is this the starter relay? does it mean its bad??
