Bad Alternator????

Today i noticed that while my car is in park and I turn on the air conditioner my lights dim a bit. These lights include the interior lights as well as the headlights. However, the lights only dim a little and is hardly noticeable but they definitely do dim a bit. Is this normal or is it an early sign of a dying alternator?

By itself it's not an indication of anything special. Alternators don't put out their rated capacity at idle. What happens when you rev the car to to 2500-3000 RPM?
