Bad aftermarket boost gauge ?

I searched and couldn't find exactly what i needed. I have an autometer boost gauge that came with my car, it reads 30/20 of vacuum/boost.
When the car is off the boost gauge reads 1 psi, and i was wondering this might be an old gauge and probably wasted.
Thing is my t25 "makes 20 psi" according to the boost gauge, without stopping or spiking and coming back down. I don't see how my wastegate is bad as this is the same turbo i ran on my previous gst and i know for a fact it is good.
Could a boost gauge like this one become faulty ? I need input, thanks guys.

Sounds bad I would go get another one with a much higher boost level on it. So you know how high your boost is. I had a 25psi (boostsside) one and accitenty maxed it out playing with my manual boost controler on a small 16g.

Yeah i was planning to get me a new gauge regardless, but really was hoping this one would last me but now with my current issue i must get me a new one, that way if the same thing keeps happening i know it's my turbo.
