Backup motor

Okay i have a 97 GS-T 7 bolt stock when i bought it has about 160k on th orignal motor i am parnoid i read these threads on crankwalk and i think to myself maybe i should have a Plan B another motor i've seen some jdm 4g63 for sale with tranny what year motor should i pick? I would like a 6 bolt anybody have any suggestions?

any 1g will be fine, there isnt any difference.

however if you buy one just be weary of whos selling it...if your wanting to do an engine build let me know, the business i work for do them everyday and could cut you a deal

You want a 6bolt 4g63T.There's a lot JDM motors for sale claiming all to have 30k,most have more like 130k.Shop carefully.

There is a difference. The 92.5's started with the seven bolts. I would suggest going with a 6 bolt motor. However you will need to make some changes such as flywheel, crank and cam sesnors, rear main seal, timing tensioner, intake manifold, ect to match the 6 bolt. Any questions let me know.

SO what year where the jdm six bolt used ?

should be the same. '90 to mid '92 is the 6 bolt, and up is the 7. But owning a 7 bolt motor I would stop reading the crankwalk threads and worry about it "IF" it happens. Next thing you know every time something goes wrong you will think "CRANKWALK" right away.

Are there any benfits to getting a 6 bolt jdm other than the 6 bolt ? thanks for the feed back guys
