Ok to start this off i bought this car from a race shop last year for a real good price. New to these cars i didnt inspect it real well like i would now. I seem to have all the emissions eliminated including the IAC, ISC, and EGR. The car ran fine, no CEL unless i shut the car off with the keys still in the ignition, and the restarted it. It would pop on and stay on till i turned it off and took the keys out. But heres my problem I recently waisted a clutch so i brought it to a tranny shop to get on put in (New Pressure Plate, Disc, TOB, and resurfaced flywheel). When i got it back they tried to hook all my emissions back up. I go to test drive the car and got up to like 3-4k in 2nd and my power just dropped. Starting blowing black smoke out the exaust and no acceleration. So i unplugged all the wires that where unplugged before but then the car idled extremely high like between 2-3k. So i adjusted the idle down like a 1/16th of a turn. But now it surges in between 1-1.5k. Im gonna do a boost leak test tomorrow considering thats the only thing i can think of besides seeing if i have a egr blockoff plate installed. I went thru the idle surge checklist on vfaq and cant think of anything considering i dont have a isc connected and it worked fine before. Any feedback is appreciated. Its so annoying and the surge dont stop accept when im in gear. Even when its hot or cold.

My idle surge was caused by a leaking adjustment screw. I fixed that by capping the adjustment screw off with a hose and screw and some rtv. I used dsmlink to set my idle. I would def do a boost leak test.

i went and bought a whole new gasket set (throttle body, exaust/intake manifold, turbo, valve cover, and fuel injector seals) but now im having a problem with my starter. I dont think the tranny shop hooked it up all the way and in came loose. I followed the battery wire down and it goes in between my intake manifold and my x-fer case so its hard to get to w/out take shit apart. I dont have my manual on me i left it at work. So this whole weekend ive had to push start my car. Is there another place i should check for my starter wire. Cause it dont even click over theres no power getting to it what so ever. And when i push start it the car runs fine

Sounds like you have a vacuum leak, possibly from a vac line hanging loose and un-capped.
I'd try taking it back to that performance shop and having them fix the vac lines, and have the place that did the clutch pay for it, because they screwed it up. Sounds like you may also have a big-ass boost leak somewhere, if you're blowing that much black smoke, or may have toasted a piston.

PS: Your ISC/IAC isn't part of the emissions system, it's needed for proper idle adjustment.

i got the black smoke to go away i had to unplug the iac sensor (which was unplugged before). Still runs rich though i can just smell it. I already paid the guy for the clutch didnt have problems untill the day afterwards. And somehow im gonna have to prove that he ####ed it up in order for them to pay for it.
