Just before the recent repaint I replaced the low beam headlight bulbs with Headlight Revolutions’s 9006 S-V.4 LED Bulbs. The high beams I left OEM. These low beams are in the regular housing and their beam pattern and throw absolutely blow away the OEM. They are also more of a cooler white than the original halogen bulbs, like a 6000K color. They are soooo much better than the OEM bulbs I literally don’t need high beams. One of the best mods I’ve done to the car.

Another thing I did was replaced all the remaining turn signal, side marker and taillight bulbs with LED bulbs (had to install resistors so the turn signals flashed properly). All those various bulbs I got from Superbright LEDs.

The fog light bulbs I also replaced with LED Brishine H3 Fog Light bulbs 6000K from Amazon - direct drop-in replacement and matched the light color as the new LED low beams. They don’t throw as much as the 55w halogens but the color matches the new LED low beams and those are so much longer throw than stock they overwhelmed the OEM fog light bulbs anyway.

With basically the entire car (except hi beams) now running LED bulbs, I get around 14.3 volts at idle and lights on even with my hi powered SPAL fans both running.

Other recent maintenance/upgrades were:
New (rebuilt) power steering pump, hoses and hydraulic steering rack (rebuilt Cardone) - all from Rock Auto

130 Amp Saturn alternator from Motor City Reman

Replaced all the front and rear lower control arms and tie rod ends

Replaced the leather wrapped OEM gear shift knob with a new OEM Mitsubishi one (STM tuned)

New OEM valve cover and had it powder coated white

New Mishimoto FMIC

Replaced my SPAL radiator fans with new ones

Am in the process of replacing my entire AC system. If anyone can help answer my question on removal of the evaporator in this thread I’d really appreciate it: Evaporator removal?

Car looks great. I am actually getting a 99 Spyder GST up and going. I had it in Miami for 10+ years and gave to my parents in Sarasota for another 10+ years. I just moved it up to Boston to be reunited with me :) Mine is stock though. I brought it up here to teach my two girls how to drive a stick. But like you, I haven't seen a DSM in years. Were you by chance part of any of the car clubs (Haleigh)? I once offered to help a club with some legal work regarding a cybersquatting issue - rogue member took possession of the domain name and wouldn't give it back. If this rings a bell, I may have another story you may find amusing regarding a lime green eagle talon with '99 GST chrome rims (my GST rims).
