Hi all just made a first datalog on my 2g 1995 gst at 18psi with the b16g as soon as I hit 18 psi of boost timing drops to 5* and fluctuates between 5-3* thru the entire pull, my afr is high 10s low 11s with aem wideband tuned with maft at -34% think i´m pulling too much fuel but don´t think it will cause the low timing also my coolant temps are 213* during all the pull. spark plugs are brand new BPR7ES gapped at .028 with also a brand new oem coil no CEL´s at all, 93 octane pump gas, no boost leaks. car runs fine and build boost really good pulls hard and the 2nd gets no traction at all with kumho ecstas but third really fells like something is wrong now I know its the low timing.

my mods are

also replaced the knock sensor about a year ago with a brand new mitsu one, tomorrow gonna check if it is loose and dial the boost to 15 psi and log again to see what happens

any advice its appreciated

Well if you have ac and a front mount temps may rise a bit, ad some fans and what kind off coolant mix you use.

Your car is pulling timing to temps and or knock, that is why it is at 3-5*

coolant temps are a bit high but 5* its really for that temps lets see what happens dialing the boost to 12-15 maybe my knock sensor its dead or about to die

btw thanks for helping :D

While coolant temps of 213 are too high for max performance, thats not why his timing is as low as 3-5* @ WOT.

OP, can you post a log here for us to read? Its a good idea to turn down the boost for now.

Also, has the car previous been operating fine at your current settings and then all of a sudden you're getting timing pulled?

Here is the yesterday´s log, its in 4th since 2500 rpm to 6k speed is in km/h cool temps are in centigrades max temp on that run its about 99* C about 210* F IAT is steady 23* C because of the MAFT gen 2 wiring, air flow is in g/s doing the conversion and adding the 34% taken by the maft i am flowing about 31 lb/m at max point

Air fuel between 10.8 11.2 with aem wideband

car runs fine no problems, its daily driven and all its just fine, about a week ago i turned the boost up to 18 and got it tuned but while drag racing felt that in 3rd and 4th something was wrong it had to pull harder at 18 psi, yesterday did the log and this is the result

Something is up with your tune. You shouldn't be anywhere near -34% correction. Your probably knocking like crazy pulling that much fuel. Running lean will drive up your coolant temps since your adding a lot of heat.

I am just using maft gen 2 for tuning, don´t have dsmlink so I can´t know how much knock I am getting

At that temp level, the ecu will pull 1 deg of timing but it sounds like you have much bigger issues to worry about. Its completely normal for timing to be reduced upon the onset of boost but once boost has been reached your timing should start to climb back up, increasing all the way to redline. If you see dips or flat spots, your timing is probably being pulled because of knock. If your timing isn't raising, I'd be careful you may have major knock issues. I'd be turing down the boost, untill you get things sorted out.

With 550cc injectors, make sure you have your MAFT base set to C and your AUX switch set to 4 to adjust for the injectors. Check out the User Guide for tuning your idle, mid, and WOT. 1G / 2G DSM MAFT version 2.XX (Current Version!) - Full Throttle Speed Tech Support

Also, as everyone has said 206* is where the ECU starts to pull timing for high temps. The ECU also pulls timing at 84* IAT temp, but with the GM MAF, you dont have to worry about that.

You definately have some knock going on. Put in some more fuel and make sure your timing comes back to par.

got the boost back to 12 later i´m gonna make some pulls with 12 and 15 psi also put the maft to -25 to get richer

checked in the morning the knock sensor and seems good

will post the logs later tonight :D
