I am replacing my engine, and at the same time switching my a/t to a m/t, might as well do it at the same time, but if possible can someone post a picture with a B&M shifter installed so i can see what it looks like, thanks!

If you look back at some of my threads, you will see what it looks like installed. :D

yea it's not really short in height, how do i make it look shorter? is there any way?

Short shifters aren't short in height, but short in throw.

@ luiquidx, how do you get them to be short in height, becaues i think it looks so aggressive on the interior.

i mean if you look at a 350z shifter inside it's short in height, how do i achieve that kind of look?

I have the B&M short shifter. Its about the stock height but there are 2 settings for the short throw, 35-50% reduction I think. I have mine at the 35 because the 50 was harder for me. The 35% feels perfect. I also cut mine maybe an inch at most, for looks:coy:......If your just looking for a shifter that doesn't shorten the throws, I have a stock one for sale that I cut and welded shorter.....It beats paying $150 for a shifter.

aproductions can you post a picture of it? how much would you sell it for?

The neuspeed short throw shifter I had was both shorter in the handle and longer below the pivot. This produces a shorter distance throw but with increase effort. Personally, I got annoyed with pinching my hand against the shifter console every time I shifted due to the shorter height. And the grinding gears drove me nuts. The factory has it the right length.

well if you were pinching your hand, then maybe i will just stick with the factory height of the b&m short shifter.

I love mine the way it is. It is the perfect height for my arm also.

I like mine as well. Using it at 60% throw IIRC

aright i'll take everyone's word for it and stick with the factory height of b&m short shifter =P

Get the ebay short throw. I don't recall exactly what company but if you want to PM me I'll track it down for you. I paid like 25 bucks for mine and it's just as good if not better than a B&M. My friend came over and looked at it and thought it was a B&M cause they are literally made in the same plant. Same quality of materials and same design just 5x the price.

I DISAGREE 100% THE EBAY KNOCK OFFS ARE NOT THE SAME AS B&M I HAVE OWNED BOTH. AND YOU SEE WHICH ONE IS ONE NOW. I BOUGHT THE CHEAP JDM Type-R Shifter FIRST AND WAS SO DISAPPOINTED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF IT THAT I TURNED AROUND AND ORDERED THE B&M SHIFTER. IF U HAVE THE MONEY STICK WITH A NAME BRAND. NOT SAYING THAT B&M IS THE BEST SHIFTER OUT THERE BUT DEFINITELY STICK WITH A NAME BRAND...:hellyeah:

i honestly say go with one of the ebay ones. They are the EXACT same and for much cheaper. I have had both and have the ebay one in my car right now. I didnt want to hack the shifter on the b and m so i got an ebay one, drove around with it for awhile and it was the exact same, then i hacked it an inch and a half or 2 inches to make it appear shorter. You do lose some leverage when hacking it but i got used to it after a week of driving. In my opinion the b and m and ebay shifters are equal, one is not better then the other.

the Megan Racing ss looks to be the exact same thing and for 1/3 of the price.
i can get one for 54 bucks compared to the 169 they want.

B&M State:
EAGLE Talon, '95-'98
35-50% adjustable throw reduction

Mitsubishi Eclipse, '95-'99
Adjustable 35-50% throw reduction

Item# 45077 $169.05

MR State:
The throw is reduced up to 30%, and shift knob height is reduced by 1 to 2 inches depending on the model.

Now i'm no specialist but if MR has the two pivot holes in the bottom, wouldn't that mean theirs are capable of being adjusted to 50% as well?

mine was 27 dollars off of ebay and looks just like that except no shift knob! Works perfect, no play of any kind and was a breeze to install. Has been on for over 6 months now with HARD driving and hasnt broke or anything. as i said before same as a b and m i used to own
