[B]1G[B]relay needed for HID install?

I purchased this HID kit a few days ago HID Conversion Kit 9006 8000K Single Beam Xenon Light - eBay (item 300394915743 end time Nov-04-10 18:36:49 PDT). I've read a few threads that said another relay for the 2g is not needed for a HID install. Does this not apply as well to the 1g since it too has a dedicated headlight relay? I don't really wanna melt my wiring or create a fire,just plug and play. If you've installed one in your 1g guys let me know

I've installed several of these types of kits on 1g's without a relay, just plug and play. never had any problems with them. I just drill a hold in the back of the bulb cover to put the wires through and put a grommet in the middle to prevent moisture from getting in. my advice would be to take a little extra time so you don't have wires running all over the place. i can take some pictures if you want.

No, you don't need a relay. The headlights already have a relay, so all you gotta do is plug in the bulbs to the socket, then plug in the ballast and power supply to the factory harness and new bulb.

Thanks for your input everyone,I installed them yesterday no problem,tested and adjusted last night and everything seems to be ok
