awd trans removal

Got a couple questions.Can I pull the trans with the drivers side axle still in.Anybody got any tips to make this easier on me.

Its not that hard. Remove transfer case, remove drivers and passenger axle. Take off all the screws in the tranny, 2 on top, 2 for the starter which you need to take off as well. 1 tiny one towards the front of the car, remove the slave cylinder (2 screws) theres another large one on the bottom holding the block to the tranny, remove the 2 screws from the tranny mount. And pull it hard with your hands towards the passenger side, you might need to wiggle it while pulling it out. After that it should come off. Remember to take off the tranny cables as well. Do some searching, im sure you will find some more info, but i think i covered the basics. Good luck.

yes and no in a way. my problem when i pulled out my trans was that the drivers side axle. it was all not wanting to come out, especially out of the wheel bearing. Look on this forum and you will find a step by step pictorial guide on how to get it out, use it. Then don't forget to fill it back up with penzoil syncromesh or redline

Maybe, make sure you unbolt the bracket from the engine. Also, to make it easier on yourself, unbolt the plate under the passenger side control arm. It only sticks out an inch but its enough to make it difficult.

I heard royal purple is also a REALLY good tranny oil anyone suggest it???

Just pulled out the tranny in 2 hours.. argh..
