I’m looking for some advice on spring rates for my 1G AWD. This is a close to full weight car that I’m building for fun street driving. Previously it was used exclusively for road racing and has Eibach coilover springs. The front spring rate is 375. As I understand, the stock spring rates are 146 front and 140 rear. So these springs are way stiffer than stock. I’m sure that was great for road racing, but that seems awfully harsh for a street car.

I want something a little stiffer than stock to help with handling and also because the car is somewhat lowered (but not slammed). At the same time I don’t want to completely compromise ride comfort. Can anyone tell me a spring rate they have used that was a good balance between the two for a street car? I’m just going to buy new Eibach springs in the length and rate I need so it doesn’t matter what brand you’ve used as long as you know what the spring rate was.

Thanks.

I have Ground Control with Bilsein struts. front is at 375 and the rear at 250. lowers about 1/2"

How does it ride? I’ve got Ground Control coilovers and AGX’s so I can easily adjust height and some of the damping, I just don’t want the springs to be overly stiff and end up with a jarring, uncomfortable ride.
