i have just bought a AWD turbo engine to swap into my N/T. but i was wondering that can i keep the clutch and flywheel (they are stock). Are the AWD clutch and flywheel the same as the FWD clutch and flywheel?

You can use the same transmission, flywheel, and clutch because the only difference in the engine is the pistons and oil squirters. I know this because I have done it before.

The only problem you may run into is that the N/A clutch might not hold the power of a turbo engine, if you tune it to 15 or more PSI and lean it out to 10:1. It would however probably hold the stock 200HP for a while at least.

Clutches on both 1g/2g fwd or awd are the same, while flywheels are different. You can use the clutch though

Correction: Clutches on both turbo 1g/2g fwd or awd are the same, while flywheels are different.

N/A clutches are different, and N/A flywheels are not stepped like the turbo ones.

Are you using a non turbo trans? The transmssions are different in the nonturbo. The fwd and awd flywheels are different.

no i am going to be using a turbo fwd tranny. Do i need to get a 90? or could i get any year? and do i need to get a 90 ecu or could it be any year??

That changes everything, you never said you were changing the transmission too. Now you need a turbo FWD flywheel and clutch. The N/A clutch will not fit a turbo flywheel.

You need a 90-94 turbo ECU, but 90 and 91-94 have to be wired differently. Any other bits of info you forgot to mention? Perhaps you have a 99 engine?

damn i need to get a flywheel too with the tranny that sucks but whatever. ok the ecu what year should i get i have a 92 talon and a 90 engine and do i need to get a 90 tranny?

It doesn't matter what year ECU you get as long as it's 90-94 turbo DSM. If you have a 90 turbo wiring harness, then it would be easier if you had a 90 turbo ECU, and if you have a 91-94 turbo harness it would be easier with a 91-94 ECU.

Lucky for us, it doesn't really matter if the two parts don't happen to match up, because all you would have to do is switch two wires at the ECU.

As for the transmission, I'm pretty sure you can use any 1g DSM turbo transmission, but someone can correct me if they know different.
