Aux input on stock stereo no worky

I took out my infinity cd player and replaced it with my infinity tape deck with aux input because I got an ipod nano as a gift but I can't get the Aux to work! I hit the aux button and nothing! what gives? Did I plug in something in loose?

If it has a tape deck, just buy one of those plug in tapes. They are about $10 at radioshack.

Or, get an FM transmitter, $15-$20.

Problem solved two ways. Why work with wiring issues, when you can just do that?

maybe because FM modulators make it sound like crap.. and same goes for the tape..

is this the stock inifinity stuff? the 95s T/X comes with that double din tape deck/equalizer with the aux input right? with the cd being a cd changer in the trunk? at least my stock stuff was.. the aux input wont enable until a mini-plug is inserted in there.. then try pressing the AUX button.. if not.. i don tknow.. check the hardware to make sure its koo.. it was a cheap alternative when I still had the stock deck.. it was nice to have an AUX in the front.. but I ended up finally upgrading to a real nice deck.. sub and speakers..

sorry i used the wrong cable. i do have the aux input on my tape deck but the cable i used was single tipped or something and i needed a double tip or double din something for it to work right. radioshack dude was very helpful thanks for the replies

you probably had a mono 1/8" input. and the "double tip" thing is a stereo 1/8" input.
