Stock Stereo Code

I just installed a new battery and forgot to put a boost box on the car to store the factory info. I need a way to get the code for the stereo but the dealer wants 65$ to do it any help would be great. If this has been covered before I will look at the archive a little closer next time.

Well it's sort of been covered.

If you pull your stock radio and call them with your serial number on the radio they should be able to obtain the code for free for you. I honestly don't know any other way to get the code other than the dealer themselves.

Dealer-only, there is no "master" code, and if they want to charge you, try another dealer. You can _usually_ see the serial number (if there's one on the top of the radio, I've seen some where it's only on the rear) if you just pull off the trim bezel (four spring clips hold it in).
