i want to know the best way to launch an automatic OMG. i dont want to be doing nuetral drops cause i just think those are bad for the transmission and i dont want to break anything cause im broke :p . should i just floor the car or what? i just want to know the best way to lkaunch an automatic without doing nuetral drops thanks :thumb:

When my car was auto, I was getting 18-20psi at 3k on the stock converter. It launched great!
I don't know if this is the case with 2gs, but for 1gs, the auto ecu messes with the timing while trying to launch. I was using 5spd code though for my custom chips.
I would put the car in neutral real quick and rev it and hold the brakes as hard as I could. Then put it in drive, put my foot about halfway on the gas and about 2-2500rpm to begin to build some boost. Then I would put the pedal down all the way where it would go to 3k and the boost would climb to the 18psi-20psi and I would let the brake up and let it fly
But yeah, when the car was bone stock and launching at ~10psi on auto ecu, it launched kind of like a turd

My car is totally done up except for injectors pump and a tune, so i run as much psi as it will let me usually 15 psi. My trans is stock though, Tofast82 what do you mean you have a five speed code? And my brakes are all good it wants to pull through them but it doesnt it just stops right at 10 psi even when i had my 14b, and it runs 10 - 11 afr on my wide band.

Oh and could a out of whack tps cause this? im 99.9% percent sure mine is off its proper position.

I burn my own eproms for tuning. All the code changes available pertain to the E931(1g5spd). I use it for simplicity that's all. But the 1g auto ecu does interfere with trying to launch, so for 1gs, 5spd coding will help some. Not sure if this is case with 2gs though

I have a stock transmission and just slotted front rotors with good pads. I have no problem launching at 18psi and can hold 21psi for a little bit. Of course being fwd I never launch that high because the tires don't even make noise when they let loose with that much power behind them.

Before looking up on other sites. I want to hear it from my favorite site. ha!
Is it a good idea to brake boost at the track. I just want to clock my car, and it is kinda of stockish form before installing my turbo and other mods.
If so, how the heck you perform that task of brake boosting. I've also here people with turbo's feathering the gas pedal. Is that a pro or con?
Yeah, Im a newb at the track's with a turbo car!:ohdamn:

Smash the brakes. Put it in neutral then rev it a little bit to build more vacuum so that brakes can grab morel. After than put it back it drive, give it gas until you feel the car is gonna move

I have been reading thru this and have seen numerous people complain about a lack of traction.... Are u fking kidding me? Unless your making over 500whp, you should be able to dead hook this car like nothing. Take some air pressure out of your tires, learn to tune your suspension for those with coilovers and adjustable shocks. I mean cmon, this is an AWD car. Stiffen the rear suspension to slow the weight transfer down, get rid of your front sway bar completely if its a track car or just get yourself some quick disconnect links for it. This way all 4 tires stay contacting the ground cleanly and you get a better footprint for your tires. If you run say 30psi normally for street driving, drop to 18-20psi cold pressure. This will allow your tires to have a better traction patch (footprint) on your launch.

Then when you actually get into the staging lane or to the light or whatever floats your boat, Stall up the car to START building boost. Your not going to come out of the hole at full boost without breaking something. Be careful however, by lowering tire pressure you are very likely to snap a half shaft or CV or a drive shaft. Running anything bigger than 16" rims is normally a bad idea for traction too as there isnt enough sidewall to allow flex. Your more apt to spin the tire and if you lower pressure your more apt to blow the bead.

Moral of the story here ladies and gents is to learn a bit more about what making a car properly hook is going to take instead of just asking how can I get a hard launch out of my car. Its a learn to crawl before you try to run kinda deal, and any REAL drag racer will tell you, there is a lot to learn to properly launch a car. And if you dont know how to setup a car to race, then you should not race it, as you will not know what to do to make the changes needed to get your desired results...

And to give an idea of how a setup can effect your ET, I bought a 07 kawasaki ZX-14. Before doing ANYTHING to it, I ran a shake down pass with it. Ran 10.63 in the 1/4. Tinkered around with JUST the suspension to allow to leave harder without lifting the tire and brought it down to a 9.83 with a 250lb rider on it (before suiting) So if I can shave nearly a second off my ET on a 190hp bike just by making adjustments to the suspension, imagine what you can do with your car if you properly set it up.
