This 2g shell has bondo on the rear quarters due to the previous owner installing blitz side skirts. I tore off what I could, but theres a good amount of bondo left. I don't want to damage the body, can I get some tips on what tools/materials I should use to restore it as best as possible? I'll post pics later today if it helps.

thanks

They should make a solution that eats at bondo. I could find more uses for it then just my car :p Sanding block here I come (cries)

If you have an air compressor get a DA(dual action) sander, or just a regular one and that'll speed it up pretty quick.

i would use a grinder with the green roloc discs to knock down the heavy stuff, once you get close to the metal i would then switch to a da with 80 grit paper till you get to the metal then go from there with what ever it is you are trying to do.

Angle grinder with a 100 flap wheel to start. Not too aggressive, but will eat the sheetmetal if you leave it there too long. I would then proceed with a regular 1/4 sheet sander unless you have air tools and 80 or 100 to take it down smooth and lightly feather. Next use a 200 to fine feather and than get out the sanding block and take it too 400. Use primer filler, or a glazing compound to fill in the blemishes.

More than likely your going to have to leave some bondo there to cover sheetmetal blemishes from before. Or just take it straight to steel with the angle grinder and start fresh with new bondo or equivalent. Either way, wear a dust mask, and don't sand in one place too long.
