Bondo quality

I have read in many places that Bondo brand filler is the worst there is. Does anybody here know which brands are acceptable and can anyone explain to me just exacly why Bondo is so bad?

bondo is great if you know how to use it you shuld use as little as possible
if you gave a gap dont fill it with bondo fill it with metalb than put bondo to make it perfectly smooth

I actually meant Bondo brand body filler, as there are other brands like Evercoat etc. I have heard that the actual Bondo brand is crap....

any body filler will suck if you apply it wrong. i've seen many cars get fixed with bondo and they came out fine. it's all in the preperation

i have used only bondo brand and never had problems

We used to use DuPont, but most of our products were because we dealt with a DuPont dealer.

Rage Gold by Evercoat. nicest i've found yet.

Belive me don't use Bondo it's old technology and it won't last, use a Quality filler like Evercoat or any other product you can find at you local autobody supplier. The differences between the two are that bondo is basically made from talc powder and resins where as a quality filler is much more complicated and is much easier to sand than Bondo, somthing like Evercoat only cost a couple dollars more and you get a filler that won't crack and will last much longer.

All of them are about the same. It's like pepsi, coke, and the off brands. I have used almost every brand out there. Bondo, 3M, evercoat, ect. They are the same. You can take the hardener from one and put in the other. Overal, 3M's stuff spreads the smoothest, too me...

I recently used the Fiberglass bondo to repair some hefty rust holes. So far so good after 3 weeks

It expands when it gets hot and will crack.
