I installed the filter and added four quarts but when I started my car and checked the fluid level with the car running and in neutral and there was nothing on the dipstick. When I shut it off there was still nothing on there. So I added 1.5 quarts and it went to the cold line, but when I checked it with the car running nothing shows up on the dipstick but it went back to the cold line with the car off.

Now when I had my transfer case removed fluid drained from the shaft that connects the transfer case to the transmission. Now my question is when it was leaking from the shaft did that drain the torque converter?

I don't want to drive the car until the fluid is right.

You are saying that there is trans fluid coming out of the rear output shaft? Does it leak when the Transfer Case is on? It could be the seal inside...

No it was leaking because when I pulled the transfer case the shaft came out with it.
