Auto Transmission Problem Please Help!!

I just rebuilt my engine and reinstalled my transmission and the car when cold will shift out of first then back in to first repeadetly while driving then it gets hot and shifts in to 2nd gear and then drive and it will not shift into overdrive at all!!! Please i need HELP anyone please help me!!!!! oh and once this happens you come to a stop and it will not go back into first?

A stupid question, but did youmake sure to top off your trannt fluid when you re-installed it?

Are the auto trannys controled by a computer. Is the computer hooked up correcty if they are?

Well i just went out and checked it and it seems to be a ok. Fluid level that is. Then i decided to try driving it again and this is what it wiil do if i shut the key off and turn it back on it will let me back into fisrt but it will not shift out till like 5000 rpm. the button is pushed on for performance shifts but i always leave that on.

yeah i agree sounds like the TCU is taking a crap on you

Check the plugs to the tranny and make sure you have them to the right ones. There are two that can be swapped accidentally, so make sure the wires to both ends have the same colors. Although anytime I was in limp mode, it would not shift at ALL. It was stuck in 2nd.

I FOUND THE PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! . Sure enough there was a broken off sensor causing this to be exact it was called the kickdown servo or Generator A.
It must have got busted when we pulled it out for the rebuild wich is running excelent i might add fired right up know problems . Thank you all you for your help!!!!
