auto trans from 1993 eclipse gsx

Hi there,

I am not new to 4g63 but I am new to DSM.

I am buying a 1993 Eclipse GSX AWD with auto trans to swap the auto trans over to my galant. I thought all 1g came with 6 bolt and I am unsure of what the car I am buying has... I will find out tomorrow. Did ALL 1993 come with 7 bolt? Does this mean that I will need a kiggly plate to make it work? I thought the kiggly plate was for the 6-bolt in a 2g. But this is a 1g 7bolt auto trans mated to 6 bolt block?

Does this 1993 also definitely have a 4 bolt rear? I am buying from a very old woman who cannot answer these questions so I have to wait until tomorrow when I go see it.

From my knowledge all 93's were a 7 bolt. Some 92's had the 6 bold crank and 4 bolt rear end, but not sure about 93+.

YOur 93 will most likely be 7-bolt. The tranny should bolt right up. The 93-94 7-bolts still had just one mount on the Tranny/3 on motor like the 6-bolts. As long as you still have the Flex-plate from your Galant you should be just fine.

As for a 4-bolt rear, just slide underneath and count. Most autos were 3-bolt. Since driveline shock is WAY less than a manual, the 3-bolt holds up real good in an auto.
