i recently replaced the ECU in my 95 gs (5spd trans) with one from an automatic. now my CEL is on and i have a DTC for no signal from TCM. anybody know how to bypass this code? I figured with the right wiring diagram i could jump power to signal wire from the "TCM" and trick the ECU.

Replacing a 5spd ecu with and automatic one is never a good idea for one I'm preety sure u won't be able to trick the ecu since ecu and tcm communicate back and forward with each other. And the automatic ecu read lines on lower rpms.

I am not 100% sure on this, as I have never researched anything on the 420A cars, but I am 99% sure you will need an auto TCM/ECU, the new automatic transmission has nothing to use as input to go off of to control itsself with a computer out of a manual transmission car.

The original poster put an auto ecu in his 5 speed so there is no need for anything to control an automatic ecu.

My bad, I lost my train of thought while reading his post.
Get a ECU from a manual trans car if you have a manual trans.

Ive used a 98 rs auto ecu in a 96 rs manual. No problems. I remember clearly. The engine was a 98 rs well but it was still a manual.
Ive done this on 2 manual rs's iirc, just trying to troubleshoot a different problem. You should not be getting a CEL

I have 2 ecus in perfect condition if you need one(420a 2ga and 2gb, 1 auto, 1 manual). Just let me know. Prob just give you one LOL, theyre not worth the metal and plastic theyre made of anyway.
