Does anybody know how to wire in a speed sensor for a manual tranny with the wiring from an automatic chassis? I have a 95 avenger 420a auto transmission that I have converted to a manual transmission. I have it running and everything but could use some help as far as wiring the speedometer and backup lights. thanks

You'll need a manual ECU as well. The VSS sends signal directly to the ECU, which then comprehends and sends the appropriate signal to the gauge cluster. So this operation will not occur without the manual trans model ECU.

As for wiring. To do it yourself, after getting the correct ECU, all you will need is the connector and 3 different colored wires. Wired to the correct pins on the ECU. The connector is the same as the camshaft sensor connectors for 97+ 420a models so that should be easy to find without a donor car.
But my suggestion, and what would be easiest, is to just get the wiring harness you need from a manual trans car. Luckily the VSS ties in through the injector harness. So you won't need an entire wiring harness swap. Just half of it.

Only 95 ECU works on 95 models, they changed design to two plug ECU after 96->

95 only had a single plug on ECU, I think I still have my original ECU from 1995 talon ESi if you wanna buy it, I can sell it fairly cheap

$30 + shipping?
Sounds good to me. I'm located in Kila, Montana 59920. Let me know how you would like a payment. Do you happen to have the wire harness by chance?
