My ahifter seems loose for some reason, the orange dash doesnt line up with the gears and sometimes you have to push the shifter foreward in order to start the car. Does anyone have any similar problems??

Under the center console where the shifter is mounted, you have two plastic spacers that have worn out over the years. Replacing them involves pulling the console out and also un-bolting the auto shifter(the spacers fit on the main bolt thru the bottom of the shifter)
It is natural for these spacers to wear out since they get the most use besides to the steering column. I had to do these spacers in my car and the shifter felt tight and like new after the install. The parts can be ordered at any Mitsubishi dealer, $8 or 9 bucks. You could also go to a junk yard and look for an auto that is in better shape than yours, and practice taking one apart for the spacers before working on yours.
