Auto/Manual EPROM & DSMlink question

OK, I have been reading up a LOT on DSMlink for 1G's especially because I am planning a 1G project with it this summer. If I have a non eprom, non 1990 5 spd car, do I have to find a 5spd eprom? I know the settings are different due to the injectors, but would it matter overall if I was using DSMlink with it.

Sorry if this has already been discussed, my search results were way too general.

You should ask the guys @ dsmlink.com this one.

In the 2g world, the ECU's can be interchanged, but in the 1g world that is not always the case
