Yeah, I just dont see why he would'nt dump it to atmosphere and make proper use of it, that is what I figured he was doing at first.

ive heard nothing but boost creep problems on the standard 31mm flapper and no porting, which is what i have, and if i set the boost to anything below 20 it will creep to 20-22psi, which for my application i dont mind because i have the supprting mods, and it looks like you do too., if you wanted to control the boost creep issue you could have went with the 34mm flapper, or ported out the wastegate area., if you try to set the boost for 22 psi does it still creep?

As stated, 22 degrees as soon as boost hits is way to much. 22 degrees peak is great if you dont knock, but you want a nice smooth steady timing curve. For example, I usually see a peak of 22-23 degrees advance... I just opened a log to check and on this log:
@ 5411rpm I had 15.1 degrees, @6178 I had 19.3 and I did not get to 22.1 until 7310rpms.

I think your creep issue can be solved as stated by proper porting, if you get fed up and want to go external, do it like the pic I showed you of mine on ORLDSM, works like a champ!

This is just a question for someone wiser than I: Could the extreme advance in timing make the turbo spool up faster, thus causing worse boost creep? My line of thought on this comes from Anti-Lag in DSMLink, IE: with just a studder I build less than 10psi, but with the Anti-Lag set on 10degrees ATDC I build 20psi. I may be totally off on this, just a thought.

well i always heard the opposite , less timing = hotter gases and some would think a quicker spooling turbo, ive accually seen chips made with purposly low timing map in the low end.

Hey brian its steve wit the blue laser, I met you a couple of times at OSW, We just got the external tial 38mm on the evo 3 mounted up with the 272/272 setup man shes pulling like a raped ape. I bogged 2nd gear and missed 3rd and still trapped 108mph real close to 109with my friend in the car. I was on a 112oct + 93 mix, on 20-21 psi...I wanted to run 25psi...im sure shes good for 112 all day long with a driver, I still have to get used to it...Shes pulling very good, im very happy with this evo 3 16g + 272 cam setup.
