Hey guys,
Went to go see this car today. The car will not idle without giving it gas and does not run anywhere near where it should for that level of mods (hesitates). The owner said he bought it with all of the mods on it and that it is currently not tuned at all (SAFC at baseline settings, stock injectors, 255 walbro) because the battery cable was unplugged and it reset. The car will be sold as is, and he is asking 10,500 now. Would anyone be able to go check this car out with me or be able to help me troubleshoot it further? I suspect the problem is compounded by the tuning issues but would that cause the stalling and poor performance? I gather it should be running rich if at stock settings with a 255. I think that boost leak could also be a factor. Also, when running, the alternator rubs against the timing belt (loud as f, could also be screwing up timing?), and the car does not hold a charge. A faulty alternator would also cause inconsistent spark and poor performance, would it not? (P.S. I should be slightly worried about the condition of the timing belt after the alternator was rubbing against it, no?)
Finally, wondering what I can do to check this car out (car is being run with an A/F gauge, but no datalogging currently on 10 PSI, A/F readings look good. If compression test comes up OK, can I rule out any engine damage caused by not logging/knock?)
If a knowledgable member could come see the car with me (willing to pay for your effort), it would help a ton, describing problems on the internet is difficult at best. Let me know if there is any more info I can provide
Sorry for the long post,
Steve Parry

, there's a blown piston ring or something else drastically wrong. Hell, it's a 2G it might have crankwalk. Make him do whatever it takes to fix it, or just don't get it. I personally after having bought a car that had some mods on it would never buy a modded car again. Mine came with a lot of stuff and ran a 13.4 at the track on 14psi, then proceeded to blow a piston ring. Just shows that modded cars have been ridden hard in the past, and most likely put away wet as well. Just find a stock GSX and mod it yourself. Much more fun and worth it in the future.
