Is it possible to install ARP's with the cylinder head still mated to block? I know you can but will it have any ill effects? I ask cause I really need a set put on but my pocket book is short due to buying a SBC this week.
If so how would you do it? Remove Oem and replace with ARP one at a time in reverse install procedure?
Also should I 2 or 3 step torque cycle it?

Ya you don't want the coolant to get between the surface. When I install them, I'll do them one at a time and torque each one to like 60-70lbs. Then after the last ones in I'll go through the torque sequence another time at 80 or 100 depending on the car.

Did mine with the head on in this order. Easy and no problems.

I then made sure to retorque them again after about 500 miles.

If hes on stock springs then you can put the studs in first. I use a long srew driver to install the washers so they dont fall down in the head. I didnt drain the coolant but I did release the coLOLant pressure before I started. That was 2 years ago.
