I'm going to instal this light weight Findanza flywheel, on my 90 Tsi.
After searching this I feel I'm getting mixed results.
I ordered some ARP flywheel bolts from DSMgraveyard, they sent me a 8 bolt package that says toyota.
I guess these toyota ARP flywheel bolts, is what is used on a 4g63.
I read I either have to cut the bolts or use a bottoming tap on the crank.

Then I read, I need to use an Automatic spacer so the bolts don't dig into the flywheel.

I would like to hear from people who installed this flywheel and what they did.
Do I have to have this A/T spacer and should I cut the bolts or tap the crank?
Thanks for any input.:thumb:

I think it's not even worth the money. Return them and run some new DSM OEM ones. I have never heard of one person ever having a problem with OEMs.

Do you think just using the spacer will eat up enough of the extra threads?
Or should I use a spacer and still tap the crank?
Thanks
The spacer should provide the perfect amount of thread engagement without needing to bottom tap the holes. Try running one of the bolts through the holes just to make sure though.

The issue is that some flywheels have a thicker hub than OE, so you could lose precious thread engagement with the OE bolts. The ARPs are a bit longer, which solves the issue.
