Low fuel pressure, BOOST LEAK TEST! Car misfire, BOOST LEAK TEST! Horn not honking, BOOST LEAK TEST! Lol seems that way on all the threads I read.
Yep, but you forgot one.
BOOST LEAK TEST
That time of the month? (Leak down test)!
Sounds like more of a boost leak problem to me haha.
Of course having not seen it with my own eyes I wouldn't believe it.
Gremlins, yes they do exist and love DSMs

Hey Fellas. So I've got a 97 gsx and I need a little help. Firstly, how exactly does one carry out a boost leak test? I think I may be doing it wrong cause I can only get about 8psi. Secondly, the reason I'm trying a boost leak test is because the car tries really hard to make boost but cant hold it. My gauge rapidly reads anywhere from around 6psi to 19psi and the car bucks and shudders and falls on it's face when trying to make boost. Stay out of boost, and the car drives normally. Also, when attempting the boost leak test, there is pressurized air coming from the tube that comes out of the left hand side of the valve cover. Not sure what to call this tube. It is routed to my intake, near the pcv hose. Also, there is much more oil in my intake track than I expected to find. Standing oil all the way to the throttle body. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys, new to the forums.... again... It was like four or five years ago and I forgot my login and I don't have my champagne dsm anymore.
I'm in NWA Arkansas now (was NEA then ATL... whatever)
I'm gonna be a hell of a lot more active now i'm finished with college.
BTW, Yeah, that's a classic case of BOOST LEAK!
Being real, I had the same problem with my champagne dsm years ago. I replaced the pressure reg and back flushed the injectors (use carb cleaner, spray it from the bottom of the injector up do it a few times, then gently push the nipple to open and close it, rinse and repeat until you get a good flow.) should clean up your problem.
As mentioned in another post, I'm game to meet up or start some type of meet in NWA as soon as my trans gets back from Jack.
Thanks guys.. And yeah, Mantic, I live out on the lake. I really can't wait for my trans now.
There are way too many civics here, hahaha. (Nothing wrong with a civic, just saying.)
I just bought this cam gear lock tool and I was wondering if it will work on a 4g63t since it only says 4g63. Here's a picture of the tool that I got,
yeah, it'll work.
