That there looks like a Compound turbo setup. :p

And yes, I finally got everything figured out. Was irritating me for the longest but I finally fiddled with Baud rates and found the one that worked for me.

You are correct... Just trying to get a full understanding on the concept and what turbos to select. Since I have plenty of room under the hood it's something to consider.

Now I wonder how well the harbor freight tig welder does on stainless.

Well, it's pretty straight forward - the small turbo is used to push the larger turbo, faster. A 16g is good to start with. I can't recall what Paul had on his. Just google Paul Volk compound Turbo setup.

I like what I'm reading on the compound setup. I really don't want a huge amount of hp but I would like to have great response over a wider range.

Something like a t25 and a hx35 would suit my needs. A goal of 400hp max is what I'm thinking.

WOW kia, that talon look amazing! I have never seen a talon that color before

I am seriously thinking about turning my 2ga gsx into a 2gb talon now. Black talon will look so evil too!

ok guys got my 6 bolt head back from the shop... im putting it on my 7 bolt bottom end any idea what head gasket I should use? 1g or 2g and I going arp headstuds.... any suggestions on what one lowers compression? shoot me some ideas

1 : You can use any year Head gasket.

2 : You realize that by going with that mix, you're going to have to drill out your block? The 6 bolt head uses thicker head studs that will not thread into the smaller 7 bolt ports on the block. If you've already addressed this, awesome. If not, then... well eh.

3 : The 6 bolt head will actually reduce airflow velocity. While you'll get a bit more mass, you lose overall flow. There are pros and cons to this. Just be sure you port match the intake manifold and use the proper throttle body.

They're out there but there aren't too many. :p glad everyone seems to be enjoying it.

hey there is a oil leak by the timing components and I was wondering if you could help me determine what seals or gaskets can cause oil to leak like this  because its getting annoying having to check oil and adding oil.

well I meant in head gasket selection the thickness of the gasket ebay has a few different gasket with headbolt kits...

To address the other issue of drilling the block according to rre head swap the 7 bolt arp head studs will hold the six bolt head in place if the dowl pins are still there im following the guide to the swap dead on. I realize im giving up torque and gaining more top end power in more highway build then drag. But just seeking input on headgasket selection

:D so in order to fix this oil leak I have to replace cam seals and change the timing belt, also what other seals are known to go bad ? Might as well replace them too.

Might as well grab an Evergreen full gasket set appox 125 and do all of it, front main, cams, balance shaft seals (or eliminate) front case, water pump seal, etc. you'll be pissed if u have to redo it all for another seal...

I don't know if my temperament could stand doing a BSEK kit with the motor in LOL.
Getting those back bearings on and out suck!
But it would make your timing job easier.

I bought that gasket set for the white devil, since I never drove it enough to give you a thumbs up or down. Zach knows what he is talking about.

Except I wasn't a fan of the IM gasket LOL.

I read on another build about relocating the fuse box to the airbag spot inside the car,

But i really digged Bobby's setup, I will go his path

What do I need to tackle that job to do it right? It would also help me to replace funked up wires along the way also.

Taking my time to do it right, now that this isn't my only car.

The warmer it gets, the more motivation I am getting

You can do the balance shaft eliminator with the motor in. Just leave the front shaft in the car and no messing with the bearings. Lower the engine a bit in the drivers did with the motor mount out and the rear shaft comes out. Replace with a stubby, leave the bshaft belt off and BOOM you're done.

As straight forward as Timing is - it's a pain in the ass to get it all together only to realize you forgot something and then have to take it all right back apart.

On a side note - anyone need an on rail AFPR?

Finally was able to find a transmission.

This came out of a mighty max truck.
