Are these exhaust the same? Or is one a rip off?

Ive been looking at ebay exhaust for awhile now, and ive narrowed it down to these two. But they both look exactly the same, even the pics are the same. Except one is 179$ shipped and one is 247$ shipped. The 247$ one says it's a Tsudo, which i know have gotten good reviews. Am I missing something here, or is someone just selling the same exhaust for cheaper? THANKS

179$

My guess is that they are the same. I bought the Tsudo kit from japinimportshop like the second link for my awd and had no issues, and I know others that have as well so you can't go wrong there. The other seller has 100% positive feedback so you can most likely trust that they are the same thing though.

Yea that was exactly what I was thinking. Anyone with 100% feedback I guess I can trust. It just looks like one seller bought the exhaust for cheaper, and in turn is selling it for cheaper. Also do you have a link to a video of the tsudo exhaust?

If your car is like most DSM's I've dealt with, the flanges between the cat and the rest of the exhaust will be rusted together anyway which means getting a new downpipe just makes the whole installation a lot easier not to mention most people end up upgrading it eventually anyway.

Yea it wouldnt suprise me if the flange is rusted. Anything that can go wrong on this GST has gone wrong ( well almost anything LOL). Isnt there something to spray on the flang and bolts to losin it up. Like pb blaster?

Oh i also forgot to ask, how large is the tip on the one you bought.

There's plenty of things you can try to get the flanges apart, but in the end it'll probably just leak after installing if you even get it apart. I got my cat-back a few weeks before the downpipe and couldn't wait so we tried to install it. In the end we just put it back together and waited for the downpipe to come in.

It's a 4.5" tip... a little big for my taste, but all i cared about was that the inner diameter of the muffler is 3".

well one sayd gsx turbo and the other is gst only. u should make sure about what you are gettinh

o yeah. LOL my bad. but why would it be such a big difference in pay?? and if u wanted an exhaust, couldn't u just get a resinator with 3 inch piping at the muffler shop with your choice of muffler. an exhaust is an exhaust. dont matter what metal its made out of or how it looks underneath. no one will see it except when they are under it. just my .02.

Do you know what downpipe you had? And did they bolt right up or did you need to fab up a peice?

I bought my downpipe off ebay as well. It was from a different seller then the cat-back, but it all bolted straight up with no issues.

LOL its cool, you scared me for a second there, i read over both those pages like 100 times before i bought the cheaper one. They seem to be exactly the same, just one seller is not marking it up as much as the other. I ordered it last night so it should be here some time next week. Ill let you all know how it turns out.

i have seen cheaper ones on ebay , like barely 100 dollars. but i guess they arent good

OK so i guess this exhaust is not the same as the tsudo. It's actually the SR*S exhaust, just sold for a cheaper price. I dont know what it sounds like because it just arived today (shipping was really fast only 3 days) but im pretty sure it will sound like all the othere SR*S catbacks. Ill post a video after i install it. Heres some pics

That's a killer neck down to the stock size! Crazy.
LOL yea im just wondering how deep the baffle in the muffler is gonna make it sound. ill put some more pics up soon. All the piping looks to be a 3 inch except for the neck down at the cat. I may just end up running a test pipe and eventually a 3in down pipe. Im kinda worried about creep/spike issues. Today for no reason at all im spiking to 17-18 psi. And for the past few weeks it was just spiking to 16 and settleing at 15. So i dunno whats causing that. For the first time i actually hit fuel cut which is such a bi*** LOL.

Im pretty sure i can shoot a 40z out of my exhaust now LOL

^^^nice video - very informative, that bolted up right to the stock downpipe/cat?

Also, what's the difference between those two ebay exhausts? They even use almost the same picture.

DSMDriver - can you verify that the ID of the end muffler is a true 3in?

when buying an exhaust, if I buy a downpipe and a catback, do I need to get a catalytic converter/test pipe or does the downpipe replace it?

I think most race app downpipes eliminate the need for a test pipe.

You might need to grind the flange holes abit for the cats studs to fit through the holes. They where little tight but I spent 2 min grinding both holes out and they went in just fine.
