Are Napa timing belts any good?

I used one because I needed one in a hurry, it's held up for 5K just fine, but it is pretty noisy. I'm going to go to OEM fairly soon because it's annoying. I'd say if you can get an OEM one it would probably be better.

I won't buy any thing from an auto parts store if it's failure could leave me stranded or damage my car. I know supposedly most of the stuff is oem relabled but almost every important part I have gotten from a parts store is either the wrong one or it breaks almost Immediately.

This is just my opinion but if I had the choice of putting in a napa timing belt component in time to meet a neked Tyra Banks lonely in her hotel room or putting in an OE part and missing the window I would probably find myself sitting in my car playing with my shifter dreaming of what could have been.

well see if you used the napa belt you wouldn't make it anyhow, so atleast your'll be playing with your shifter with a running car. :p

What about the Napa brand timing belt tenshioner. The OEM is really pricey.

look over at www.sloyboyracing.com . You can pick up a kit with all 4 parts you should replace on the timing belt change (Belt, Idler Pulley, Tensioner Pulley, and Tensioner) for much less than you can probably go through the dealer..

The general consensus is don't cheap out on the Timing related parts, because if something goes wrong there, you are going to be spending a whole lot more money then it would have cost just to get the genuine mitsu parts.

Get the Kevlar belt. I have had alot of sucess with it and well iits still a new item i suppose I guess it will take a few more miles to really asses the situation. I have reused it a good 5 times. I guess its in best interest to replace it every time you take it off but hey I will test it for awhile. I got extra heads layin around so I will press my luck. If anyone knows any negative feedback on this belt point me in the right direction My research of this belt returned very few stacks of info.
