They were probably referring to the compression arm (curved) and the lateral arm (straight).

That depends on what the driver hit

Like Brian said, there are two front lower control arms. One is straight (laterial) & the other is curved. You need to figure out which arm you require.

I called the dealership when mine started squeaking and had a torn boot. I gave them my VIN number over the phone and they checked for me.

They said the recall service has been done to my car.

I told them, "...well it ripped again." They told me, "Sorry, you have to pay for the next one."

It didn't make much sense to me because why would they refuse to service a part that failed once more?

I don't know; maybe I am wrong.
