I just finished installing my Apexi pen type turbo timer, i followed their instructions, as well as a tech article on here, i bought the car and it had a turbo timer harness in it, so i just plugged it in and wired the O2 wire to the ECU and the ground as well, and spliced the parking brake wire to the switch, my only problem is, when i turn it on, it runs, turn it to ACC, still runs, but when i turn it to off, it shuts off, so i dont know what to think, i thought turbo timers were made so you can lock the doors and walk away and it will still be running, my parking brake is set and everything, so i dont know what to think... any help will be appreciated. thanks

i am pretty sure that all of my wiring is right, my O2 voltage reading is in range, and my A/F ratio is right too, as is my voltage, i just think i need to do some setting on the countdown time, i did mess around with it a bit, and could never get it to stay running, unless i need to drive the car around? i just started it up and when i turn it to accessory, it stays running, and counts down, the car shuts off when the e-brake is released as well, so i dont know what to do, if anyone has used an apex'i turbo timer, i just wanna know how to set it...thanks again.

so when you turn off the car it counts down but doesnt keep the car running? or it turns off and the car turns off? might wanna take a look at the wiring harness that is already there, there was one in my car when i got it but it was ghetto-fied beyond belief.

when i turn it to ACC it counts down and keeps the car running, when it hits 0 seconds, it shuts off, when i turn it to OFF, the car shuts off, and so does the turbo timer.... the wiring harness came with the car, i never knew was it was until i saw a turbo timer harness, the turbo timer harness end and the turbo timer end match up color wise, but on the ignition i am skeptical, i am sure i hooked it up to the right harness, the one with a blue plug on that that goes to the ignition, but yeah i think the harness is the problem, should i just hardwire it? i hate to splice wires, but if i have to, then i will, i need to buy a soldering iron sometime, so i will probably just solder the wires on... basically all you do is match up the 3 wires right? according to their purpose..... thanks though, if you have any more comments, just speak them out...thanks again.. :dsm:

i would recommend just gettin another harness, not because splicing is hard but the harness is obviously easier, faster, and easier to deal with if you have to take it out or do somethin to it later. and you mean that you can start the car, turn the car off to the ACC position and it keeps running and counts down but not to the OFF position right?

I would second the idea to get another harness-you really never know unless you do it yourself. One of the first things I did when I got my DSM was an HKS TT and I got the HKS harness at the same time (wasn't expensive at a all) and the install was absurdly easy and it works like a charm. Not sure that the APEXi TT is compatible with the HKS harness, but I do think the plug and play ease of the harness is the way to go. Splicing isn't too hard (did it in other non-DSM cars) but why do it if you don't have to?
