I have an issue that needs fixed asap so I can drive the car around feeling better. My car was tuned with the Apexi SAFC and AVCR and that was reset so it is on stock 2g auto gsx tune. I have a frank 4 20g turbo, upgraded just about everything and the car drives as if it's getting too much fuel or something, it randomly shuts off if I come to a stop or go from reverse to drive.

Now I was thinking about just swapping out injectors but I don't think that would really be helping probably more destructive than anything. So what settings would be optimal for a simple tune with these devices? I don't plan on boosting really I am only in town for 5 more days before BMT. I just want to comfortably drive my car without feeling like I am doing harm to it.

I do not have a datalogger or wideband. I am just looking for the most simple tune here to have the car flowing right. Ideas?

hmmmmmm. always better to run rich as hell rather than lean out & pop. you say the car is fully upgraded yet no tune on it at all. sounds like a problem there mate.

your afr's are probably going nuts cause of the extra boost its most likely set at & the tons of fuel being thrown at it.

tune tune tune.

No rich is not better, to much fuel will ruin a engine just as running lean will.

Yes I know it's bad, I'm in a tough spot right now though and don't have the proper time to get the car to 100% so I just need it to run healthy for simple driving for a few days. Injectors I believe are 600cc or 800cc. I know the car maxed at 444whp before and was driving on 327 daily with no issues.

I looked up some simple setups and found this:

Low
1k +-2, 2k -4, 3k -6, 4k -10, 4.5k, -10, 5k -10, 6k -10, 7k -10

Hi
1k -21, 2k -23, 3k -24, 4k -23, 4.5k -22, 5k -22, 6k -21, 7k -18

TH Point
30% Lo 80% Hi

Any ideas? I know my setup is a bit more than those settings but I need something for now.

600's will be good with a afc but 800's are pretty much useless to tune with a afc, if they are 600cc then those i believe are roughly 27% bigger than 450cc as for throttle points, its best to set it at like 79 lo and 80 hi so that way it dont have to calculate the adjustments between 30 lo and 80 high...

but dont quote me entirely its been about 4 years since i tuned a afc...

you dont have a MAFT do you forgot to ask that.

Okay I'd like to check the injectors to be sure but I don't want to have to remove a lot. I appreciate the advise here, do you think the hi and low settings are decent enough to work for now? I will adjust the throttle point too.

You really need to pull the injectors before anyone can give you an accurate answer. The difference between 600 and 800cc injectors would be a mathematical correction of -25% vs -44%.

Also, put your TPS trigger points back to 30 and 80%.

It's this the 99 in your profile? If so, I'm surprised nobody is asking why you are using an SAFC?
Your stock ecu is very capable of doing everything you need on it's own with just a flash.

You seem like you really know what your doing with an SAFC, and if that's the case I need some advice from you.. Like really some suggestions for Injectors and my set up

The SAFC can only correct injectors up to 720CCs on our cars, I'd suggest going with 650s though. PM me your setup, I might be able to help.

Hey fellas, I'm using a safc on my car and I got it to where I'm happy with the a/f numbers under boost but on cold start ups I have to adjust the setting on the safc to make it idle and gradually move it back to its former setting as the car warms up. Is that normal? I kind of thought that the car would be able to adjust itself on cold starts. 14b, front mount, 2.5" IC pipes, 650's, safc, aem wideband. Any thoughts?
