Toronto,
I am thinking of getting this exacust for my 2G GSX. What i am wondering how loud is it? I never heard it on 2G so i have no idea. Is it like VERY LOUD @ WOT. And how good is it?

PS: It will be connected to 02 Eliminator straight downpipe and High Flow CAT.
Turbo is EVOIII BIG 16G

Wow...I have basically seen this identical thread about 50 times...Cmon and stop being so lazy...type in Apex'i N1 or loud exhaust in the search button and you'll get your answer...but yes, It is a good choice and yes its loud at WOT. Its all preference but I personally love the sound of it.

just my $.02 but i love my N1 system. everyone that lives around me loves the sound and the performane is grate i would not go any other way hope it helps

too much money for not even the best exhaust. Just give some of the domestic vendors a try, simple 3" all around with a n1 style muffler for almost half the price of the apexi.

I wouldn't recomend N1 because the pipes bottle neck down, my friend bought it for his GST and it got very small, and its not a true 3 inch.

I haven't seen anything at all like you're describing on my 1G AWD system. Please post a picture so I can see the "pipes bottle neck down"

The biggest neck on the 1g's is at the flex pipe, but the 2g's are different. The pictures that I've seen looks like they've hacked systems together using various sized pipes until they get to the muffler.

I bought the N1 for my 2g and it is a great exhaust. There is one neck down where it meets the stock cat, BUT it is removable. So to have the true 3" exhaust all ya need is a downpipe and highflow cat that we'll meet up with the catback minus the neck down. The N1 actually expands from 80mm(3") piping to 85mm. :talon:

Any open exhaust is going to be loud, I'm running the apexi dunk series which is just two resinators and a fake muffler. It's a pretty nice system no neckdowns good quality nice fit. I've heard the thermal system before and I'd say its one of the quietest.

I have the 3" N1 turbo-back too. No complaints here. The sound is pretty sweet too, especially since I put the new cams in.

Holy Sh!t you have got to be kidding. I had the Apexi N1 downpipe and catback on my 97 gsx. and I loved it so much I got the Apexi N1 DP and the CB for my 1g as well. It sounds so awesome man seriously there is nothing like it. Also it is a true 3 inch system after the flex section on the dp before the flex section it is 2.5. also where the rear half of the axle is the n1 catback bottles UP to 3.3 inch! By far the coolest exhaust I think. I wouldn't get anything different.

Its all in the downpipe.

Have you seen the article where they cut open the exhuast and see how small it is? I made my true 3 inch exhuast for $275, all mandrel bent, turbo back.

why waste your money, buy a $60 muffler from ebay and have an exhaust shop throw on 2.5 or 3 inch pipe to a 2.5 or 3 inch downpipe, my exhaust cost $250 turbo back, no cat, it sounds great and does its job, to get exhaust away from the turbo fast. Why spend 600 when u can spend 250 and have 350 for other performance mods, apexi, rnr, they are all a waste, make your own and save your money

N-1's are mandrel bent and made of high grade steel with that purple coating stuff so it doesn't rust. Fitment is perfect and for people that need one, it comes with a silencer. Those things make it better then a $200 muffler job.

First off, my exhaust system is made of aluminized piping just as a N1 or RNR is, second, an exhaust is an exhaust on a turbo car, its job is to get the exhaust gas out as quickly as possible, so as the pipe size goes up, the exhaust gas has less of a restriction, making spool-up faster and "opening" up the induction system. I feel that it is a waste of money to buy and exhaust system for $600. I am willing to put my custom exhaust up against any $600 or $1000 system, and am also willing to bet the quality of it is as good if not better.

Well, everyone has their opinions, but you can't really blame a person that doesn't have the N1 to side against it. Everyone goes their own route with their cars. So far the only downside I've heard about it though is that with the $500 it will cost to purchase the cat-back, you can get a custom turbo-back + extra stuff for the same price. But, I have not heard one N1 owner that dislikes the exhaust or the sound of it so I'm sure you would not be dissapointed. I say go for it ;) :thumb:

As varied as I have seen exhaust tests done on different cars, I don't think the results would be as close as you think. For me it was worth the money - and I don't think I wasted it and if I had it to do over again I would buy another one.

here is one of the sites I used when I was looking at what system i wanted to get. just thought it might help a little.HERE :thumb: :talon:

BTW.. For those concerned about price, just keep an eye on eBay! I got mine brand-new for $350 ;)
Yeah my bad, thats it. The 3 inch was still smaller than my 3 inch exhuast I made. My exhuast follows the same path as basically all of the exhuasts for 600+, fits awsome, uses all of the stock hanger locations, has 3 bends in it(1 for DP, 2 slight in back) and I bet works the same as any rnr, apexi...etc. Its also aluminzed mandrel bent pipe that I coated with a anti rust agent.

Another reason I made my own was because I have the VP 3inch 02 housing and it uses the triangle 3 bolt pattern instead of the 2 bolt pattern. Do what you want, but its cheaper to make your own or have a muffler shop do it. With any exhuast like that you basically pay for the name. If I did buy a exhuast from a shop it would have to be the VRS(http://www.slowboyracing.com/Exhaus...-94 AWD & FWD turbo back/90-94_turboback.html)
