thinking about getting this turbo did a search didnt find a thing wondering if any of you guys have one

I also have not heard much about this turbo and would really love some information.

I have this turbo right now. I bought it last July when the bearings in my PTE GT3255E 50 trim went bad. I needed a turbo to replace my GT32 because My car is a daily driver. I bought the SCM4431E from here http://www.extremepsi.com/store/customer/product.php?productid=17344&cat=506&page=1
It was the only turbo that was in stock at the time and at least it was an upgrade from my GT32.

PROS: Huge top end, the SCM4431 seems at home at boost over 21psi. So far it has also been great on pump gas. I could tune without my Coolingmist H2O kit active up to 25psi on 94 pump gas.

CONS: I have an Auto so the lag on this turbo is a little to much for daily driving in the city. Because of its size I think I'm dealing with a small amount of compressor surge under 15psi and part throttle usage. This turbo likes WOT pulls, I think it will be a great dragstrip turbo. Since PTE warrenteed my GT32 for free I'll be putting that back on for my winter turbo and better daily driving.

Overall: For the price, it's a huge turbo and you'll most likely not need to upgrade for a long time. Also, if you have a 5 speed I think you could really get this thing spinning with a stutterbox launch. I can brake boost it to 15+psi since I have IPT's High stall converter but I haven't gotten to the track to really run it hard for a timeslip yet. I think the SCM4431 has huge potential that just hasn't been realized yet.

i owned it and a 50 trim PTE.. thing really came alive past 23psi while the 50trim was good at around 20-21 psi.. Still think the 50 is better but on nitrous the 60 shined
