i was just at extreme psi yesterday, and i took a good look at this kit. seems petty good for the price. but i went with the plx 250 instead.

Does look like a pretty neat setup expecially for the price. The only advantage I can see of the PLX unit is it has both the 0-5V wideband & 0-1V narrowband output & it looks like this one doesn't have the narrowband output, though I don't know how many people actually use that output, myself included. I only use the 0-5V output like most for datalogging, I run the PLX and couldn't be happier with it but this unit wasn't out when I purchased mine 1.5 years ago. This one even comes with the exhaust bung, looks like a great deal to me, personally I would trust a product from NGK.

yes i chose the plx because of good experiences with it and the narrowband feature and i ran this same setup up on my last talon without problems.

I'm actually ordering this Wednesday and will be installing it really soon. I've had my eye on this unit for a while. At this point in time in my DSM project, the $50 difference between the NGK and the next brand up means alot. I'll write up a review if no one else does before I get it all finished.

I have the older AEM wideband gauge. It only reads as low as 11:1 which sux if you want to tune in the 10's. But, needless to say, I was looking into this ngk afx but it only has an output of 0-5 volts. I log my aem through the rear 02 and the aem has both a 0-5 and 0-1 output, the 0-1 is what is needed to log. Our cars dont have that many 0-5volt places you can log from. Most dsmlink guys can use the egr or mdp sensor, but those are also used for other important things like a gm or aem map sensor. Just some food for thought. It just seems nicer to have the option. Other than that, i'm sure the afx is great. NGK is a pretty big company.

Disregard my post. I just came across some info and the rear o2 input will actually also read 0-5v inputs very well. Maybe i should give a this thing a shot.

I just got home this weekend and took mine out of the box. It looks like a really nice unit and it looks like it will fit perfectly in the other spot on my center vent :thumb:. I was hoping I would be able to put it there, so I'm going to try to fab something up for the wideband and my boost gauge to keep it stealthy. I looked at putting it on the steering column, but people are right it would be a really really tight squeeze and I'd rather have it look cleaner and still visible. I don't plan on fully installing this thing though until I get DSMlink for christmas. If this thread is still alive by then then I'll give a review on it.

I thought this would still be alive:) Anyone have some feedback now that its been 4 months?

I have this one too, I'm going to do a write up as soon as I get the 6bolt in, take care of all the problems, and get it all hooked up... LOL sounds like a lot huh? Probably won't be up for a few weeks ;)

I have the AFX and I like it. I've never had or used another wideband so I can't compare it to anything. It seems to be a little slow to respond to large changes in A/F but maybe they are all this way. It works well logging in DSMlink.

My AFX is very quick. I really like the unit and how the display is bright even in direct sunlight.

Yeah, the display is nice. But if I'm crusing and then punch it, it can take about 3 seconds or so before the A/F comes down to where it should be, same with when I let off. It starts coming down immediately but it changes slowly. I've gotten used to it, if I'm going to use it to tune I just start the pull at a lower RPM so it comes down by the time I hit full boost. The screen updates pretty quickly though.

Also, my friend's UEGO just sits at 14.7 whenever he's idling or cruising, but mine goes up and down between 14:1 and 15:1 or so, and seems to be lower than 14.7 most of the time.

Weird because mine has a 1 sec delay. When idling it sits maxed at 16.0, at cruise I bounce between 14 and 15.3 generally.
