Hey guys, ive been looking at IPT's website for some time now thinking of all the cool stuff for our auto trans', and was wondering if anyone here has, or is using IPT's auto trans boost controller or IPT's shift box.

is the auto trans boost controller the best way to change a/t line pressures? (i dont like the idea of the blue wire mod, having full line pressure all the time, just wot...)Automatic Transmission Boost Controller

is the auto/manual shift box the best way to manually control the auto trans shifting ?http://www.importperformancetrans.c...-box-90-99-eclipse-and-talon-auto-5289.htmlim

pretty sure i will use their (ipt) end clutch kit, have them rebuild/beef up my valve body and ad a shift kit, and maybe their high stall converter...just trying to find the BEST way to raise the line pressure (no blue wire mod, i like it being adjustable) and BEST way to manually shift the auto trans.......

thanx dsmtuners!

Sorry I had to get my post count up to "proven member" before I could reply.

I have the IPT auto line pressure control module in my auto. It was VERY simple to install and I agree the reason I went with it is because its alot more simple that doing the blue wire mod. I also have the translab shift kit and the IPT restalled converter. I unfortunately can't give too much of an opinion on it since I never drove the car before I installed all this. I will be tuning the car in a week or two and hopefully the money spent on these mods will be worth it. I also run AMSoil racing trans fluid, and a bottle of lubeguard. Kiggly flexplate, English Racing reworked valvebody, and an AEM trans temp gauge. And relocated the cooler to the stock intercooler location.

An aftermarket trans temp gauge is a must if you don't have one.

depending on your mods (turbo) just go with the line pressure controller and a shift kit. If you upgrade your turbo bigger than a 16G I'd start looking at upgrading the converter.

never thought to place the atf cooler in the stock smic location, i may have to do this now

...or should i say scratch the shiftbox and "boost controller" and just get a reprogramed tcu?

Depends on what year DSM you have.

If you have a 93-94 good luck finding an Eprom TCU. Thats the issue I ran into.

is foreign muscle the only company to reprogram dsm tcu's?

are they trustworthy with their tcu tuning?

i also notice on their website they offer ecu tuning aswell. would they be a good place to tune my car via dsmlink?

also on their site, they say they rebuild and modify dsm auto trans', would you trust them with an end clutch replacement and valve body rebuild with shift kit?

they are kind of close to me, so im thinking i may get it all done there

i may have to get the IPT "a/t boost controller" to control line pressure on the fly to hold me over untill i get an eprom TCU with custom programming

any 2g's?

can the 1g eprom tcu be used in a 2g?

i have the shift box and a shift kit in my eclipse gsx and its the greatest thing i have ever put in my car. The shift box is super fast and accurate. As soon as you press the shift button there is no delay just the next gear. Also i installed the shift kit witch is basically stiffer valve body springs with makes harder shift. Very good product i'm very happy with it you should diffidently go for it.
