Anyone try to fit a ford taurus cooling fan?

These fans out perform every fan I've ever seen, aftermarket or not.

Surprised my search for it cam up with nothing ? Any DSM folks running these? I had plans of dropping the dual fan setup to swap in one of these. Before getting to much into it, I just wondered if anyone has tried to fit them on a 1g?
 
could be a worthwhile swap if it was simple enough. from what i've just read mid 90's taurus fans pull close to twice as much air as ours do.

I have personally flow tested all 4 of these fan types to find out the actual CFM flow and the Mark VIII and Taurus (Taurus and Mark VIII fans have same motor) fans flow about 4500 CFM and some have done about 4900CFM. The older style Dual Ramcharger style fans flow about 3500-4000CFM and the newer Y2K Ramchargers flow about 3000-3500. All 4 fans are dual speed fans also.
 
Yes they flow that good but size does matter.... DSM's dont have alot of room to play with which is why some of us go pusher and puller fans. Plus I keep my engine bay cool with 1 SPAL 1630 CFM pusher style fan so 2500-3000CFM is more than enough cooling for us

I believe those fans are 16" which is to big for out radiator and engine bay. You would have to do some modifications to make it work
 
Rotary guys swear by these fans. They are the best bang for the Buck modification rx7 guys can do for their hot blooded turboed rotarys.
 
Part #30103202HO is a 12" SPAL high output fan with over 2000cfm of airflow. You don't want to go larger than your radiator size as it becomes less efficient.
 
That's what I forgot to mention, thanks for reminding me Milo. Those high output fans do draw a TON of amperage and you'll likely need to install a high amp stock alternator or do a Saturn swap to run it and everything else in the car.
 
The amp draw on low speed isn't bad at all actually. 26-28 amps on low, with a 37-40 amp startup spike. On high it had a draw of about 32-35 amps with a 48-53 amp startup spike. I wire 2 40a relays in parallel on my cars. Never had an problem. You can also use the volvo 2 speed fan controllers.

I run the 90a galant dsm alternator so I doubt this will be an issue. You would may not need the high setting anyway. Although it would probably help the AC efficiency wiring the high setting to come on with the AC. The fan shroud would have to be modified, but I don't see that being an issue. I just cut it to fit and glassed over it on my other cars. For the money I still think it's one of the best options. I was just concerned about the depth.

I ran one in my mustang years ago. If I stood beside the car while it was running and the fan kicked on, it would make my pant legs flap around. One HELL of a fan.
 
Wow!OMG Something actually worth a shit from the old Taurus's. Their rear bumper might be saggin and draggin, but that fan sure will move some air.:rolleyes: LOL
